Could artificial intelligence help us to diagnose Alzheimer’s disease?

0
Machine learning, a type of artificial intelligence, has been utilized to train computer programs to react to exposure to new data without being reprogrammed. Researchers at VU University Medical Centre (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) have now tried to repurpose this technology to detect mild cognitive impairment (MCI), a common precursor to dementia.

The team have coupled machine learning methods with a novel MRI technique, termed arterial spin labeling (ASL) imaging, which is capable of measuring perfusion & tissue absorption rates of blood throughout the brain.
